Easy CBD Dosing
CBD dosing has been the subject of a lot of articles, blogs, speculation, and a lot of myth. Using CBD isn’t something you’re born knowing how to do, but a lot of brands require you to do some complicated calculations. We don’t think this is necessary. Easy CBD dosing shows you how to get the right dose.
At HempExCo, we worked on a CBD dosing system to make it easier for you to figure out what you’re using.
1. Read the Label
First, check the amount of HempExCo CBD in the bottle for your total available active CBD. Then look at how many milligrams are in a serving. While most brands aren’t very clear about what a serving is, HempExCo will tell you straight up on the bottle how many active milligrams of CBD in each ml. We don’t have serving sizes because everyone is different! Here is an example of how to dose CBD oil by HempExCo
Example: In our 600mg bottle of tincture, it says “1mg per drop” (for the advanced math whizzes, this is because 600mg/30ml equals 20mg/1ml and 20 drops per ml). Our dropper is marked in ¼ ml (0.25 on the dropper) (5 mg) increments. A full dropper is 20mg. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
2. Determine Your Starting Dose using Easy CBD dosing calculations
When dosing CBD, we usually start with 1 mg per ten pounds of body weight once daily. This means 10mg for every hundred pounds. If you don’t get relief at this dose in three days, increase your dose by 1mg every three days to find your effective dose. The same is true for CBD dosing for dogs. 1mg per 10 pounds of body weight. CBD dosing for pain management is a little different so we will address that in another post.
Correctly dosing CBD is not only getting the best benefits out of your CBD, it’s also getting the most bang for your buck!
Example: Ashley weighs 120 pounds. 120 pounds at 1 mg per ten pounds makes an initial dose of 12mg. She found after three days that didn’t take care of her pain, so she increased it to 13mg. That worked so she takes 13mg of tincture per day.*
